RULES OF THE TBAGS PAIRS’ COMPETITION
1. The competition is open to all fully subscribed members of TBAGS.
2. The draw for the competition will be made by the Competition Secretary with at least one TBAGS member present. Player drawn 1st will have home
advantage for the 1st round. For subsequent rounds a toss will determine who has home advantage. The final should be played at a mutually agreed venue.
3. Dates by which each round is to be completed will be published on the website.
4. It is the responsibility of both players to arrange the match. Failure to complete the match by deadline +1 month will result in both Pairs being disqualified (unless a pair concedes).
5. The Competition Secretary has discretion to extend deadlines where there are extenuating circumstances.
6. The Competition will be a four ball better ball matchplay event played over 18 holes where normal match play rules apply.
7. Each match will be played on a “90% basis”, with the lowest handicapped player playing off scratch & all other handicaps taken from that. Handicap allowances (strokes) will be taken from the
latest handicaps.
8. For knockout matches, players must decide at the outset of play how the match will be decided if the match is tied after 18 holes. Players can agree to replay, subject to meeting the deadline for
completion of that round.
9. The Competition will not be played on formal society days. Playing any other match play event (e.g. Captain’s Knock Out) simultaneously is not permitted.
10. The winning pair will receive the Pairs’ Comp Trophy at the AGM.
11. The usual rules of golf apply.
