RULES OF THE CHAIRMAN'S CHALLENGE COMPETITION

Events will be purely strokeplay with scoring on a Stableford basis

All TBAGS events will count towards the Chairman’s Challenge except the AGM (any events not counted will be communicated, ie Christmas event)

Handicaps will be as per current TBAGS handicap rules (these will be published on the tbags.org.uk)

To qualify for a final Chairman’s Challenge league-placing members must have at least eight qualifying scores (members not achieving 8 qualifying scores BUT achieving 4, will be eligible to compete for the Chairman’s Plate, as defined below)

Scoring for each event will be on a simple scale of 12 points to the winner, 11 to the runner up, 10 to the third etc. down to 1 for twelfth place

All other members placed below 12th will also receive 1 point (every participant will therefore get at least 1 point)

The best eight scores for each member will count.

The member with the highest points total from their best 8 scores will be awarded the Chairman’s Challenge Trophy

In the event of two or more members having an identical points total for their best 8 scores, the winner will be the member with the most wins in the season’s events; or if tied on that element the most runners up positions. If it is still impossible to split two or more members after those factors have been taken into account, there will be an 18-hole play off on AGM day (played as a Stableford with countback on the back nine in the event of a tie).

Small Print

It will be possible to have joint winners at any event & countback will not be a factor. If for example two members tie for first place with 40 points they will each receive 12 points & the third placed member (or members) will receive 10 points

Matches to be played at any time after 1 January

No Chairman’s Challenge fixtures are playable outside of formal TBAGS events

Prize structure

The winner of each event will receive a £20 cash prize

The runner up will receive a £10 cash prize

In the event of a tie for first place the prize money will be split accordingly (e.g. if two tie each winner will receive £15.00 & there will be no runner up prize).

The prize fund for winner & runner up will not exceed £30 per event.

There will be a sleeve of balls or bottle of wine for the winner of the Nearest The Pin competition at each event

A new “Two’s” competition. £1 for each member playing on the day will be allocated to the two’s prize & that sum will be carried over to the next event if not won. If there is more than one two at any event the prize money will be shared equally. (Members will not be asked to contribute in addition to the event cost)The size of the 2s pot will not increase beyond one rollover.
